The Skills Hub Shortlisted for TES Award
Assistant Principal Pouname Khaira led on the nominations and the team are delighted to have been recognised in the shortlist for the work they have done this year to embed the use of VR Experiences to calm students and Improve mental health.
Many of the students struggle with emotional dysregulation, which directly impacts their ability to engage in learning. VR provides an immersive, calming environment where students can self-regulate before or after stressful situations. Guided mindfulness sessions, virtual nature walks, and relaxation experiences have helped students manage anxiety, reduce outbursts, and return to class in a focused state.
Paul Chambers, Principal of the Skills Hub, “I am absolutely delighted that we have once again made the shortlist for the TES Awards. It is testament to the hard work of the whole team at The Skills Hub in their quest to be at the forefront of delivering opportunities to our young people.”
Since 2009, the TES awards celebrate excellence across the whole education sector in one inclusive national event in London. The winners in each category will be announced at gala dinner on Friday 20th June.
Wishing Paul and the team at The Skills Hub the best of luck!
