St Philip’s School are delighted to be named an Equal Access School 2025 by the Football Association (FA) in recognition of the opportunities and equal access they provide for girls in football.

The FA has developed digital awards to celebrate and recognise schools that offer equal access and opportunities for girls in football and we were delighted to learn that we have been granted the award for Key Stage 2 and 3.

The PE department run a girls’ football club at lunchtime and offer opportunities to all girls to participate in football within the PE curriculum. There are also opportunities to play in competitive matches against other schools as part of the Fulham FC Inclusive Girls’ Football League.

The school’s girls’ team are the Kingston representatives in the LYG Para Football Event, where they finished as runners-up last year. St Philip’s are also an active member of the Kingston Borough Girls’ Football Steering Group, representing SEN pupils. The groups aims are to further promote and develop girls’ football within the borough.

The PE team provided evidence of all these opportunities and completed the girls’ football equal access survey back in the summer term which highlighted the opportunities on offer here at St Philip’s. There was an assessment process and the school have now received the digital award logo to proudly display and showcase our commitment to equity in girls’ football.

It is fantastic to receive this recognition of our commitment to equity for girls’ football recognised by the FA.
