Sir Ed Davey MP welcomed to Bedelsford School

Pupils and staff at Bedelsford School gave their local MP, Sir Ed Davey, a warm welcome as he toured the school grounds, taking every opportunity to meet and chat with pupils along the way. Learning about the outstanding facilities on offer at the School, his personal knowledge, understanding and interest in the SEND education sector was evident.

Emmet Murphy, Principal of Bedelsford School and Julia James, Executive Director of Quality and Standards at OHC&AT were able to showcase the excellent educational provision and care the School offers on a typical school day, as well as take part in more in-depth conversations around initiatives to help improve support for pupils, families and carers.

Emmet Murphy said, “It was a pleasure to be able to give Sir Ed Davey a tour of our School and for us to be able to introduce him to some of our wonderful pupils, who delighted in explaining the activities they were engaged in.”

Julia James added, “It was valuable to share with Sir Ed Davey our aspirations for our young people and thoughts on future SEND initiatives.”
