New PRIDE Academy

The Young People’s Academy has moved into it’s fantastic new purpose-built site and the school has been rebranded as The PRIDE Academy to reflect the school’s PRIDE values or Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Empathy.

All pupils and their families were invited to visit the new building for an induction visit on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd April and taken on a tour of the new facilities. Pupils were recognised for their achievements in the Spring term in a special awards ceremony.

The awards ceremony took place in the sports hall of the new building. Laurie Cornwell told the pupils: “This is your PRIDE Academy. You deserve it, so make the most of it and I am expecting amazing things from you in this wonderful new building.”

Families also had the opportunity to talk to members of staff and sample food from the new menu. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive with the sports hall and specialist classrooms proving very popular with everyone.

As a community of learners, families and colleagues OHC&AT believes that by working collaboratively, with energy and ambition we can always effect positive change. No limit is placed on what is possible and everyone has the ability to be the very best they can be.
