MOVE Gold Award

Bedelsford School has been awarded the MOVE Gold Quality Mark in recognition of the work the school has done to embed the MOVE programme into the every day experience of all pupils who need it. The team responsible at Bedelsford were praised by the Award Assessors, “The MOVE team are enthusiastic, highly skilled and provide incredible movement opportunities for their pupils!”

The MOVE Programme is an activity-based practice that enables disabled young people to gain independent movement. It uses the combined approach of education, therapy and family knowledge to teach the skills of sitting, standing, walking and transitioning between.

Class teams and Therapists at Bedelsford School work together to plan regular opportunities for movement and positional changes to both support social and educational opportunities for students and to allow for the health benefits movement allows for.
