Kingston Schools Jack Petchey Award winners
Congratulations to the young people and adults from our Kingston Schools who recently attended the Jack Petchey Achievement celebration event at the Rose Theatre. The Mayor of Kingston presented certificates and medals to very worthy recipients from schools across the borough. We were delighted that pupils and staff from our three Kingston-based schools, Bedelsford School, Dysart School and St Philip’s School were all there to pick up their awards.
It was a wonderful evening, with lots of inspirational stories and successes from so many pupils and students from across the borough. Two members of the Bedelsford staff team, Paul and Rodrigo, were awarded Outstanding Leaders Awards in recognition of their hard work and consistently going above and beyond to support the young people at the School. We were also delighted that Jack Foster, who has volunteered with the Post-16 students at St Philip’s School in their horticulture sessions for the last five years, was also recognised with an Outstanding Leader’s Award for his dedication to the school.
Everyone was presented with a certificate and medal and the schools also benefit from a grant from the Jack Petchey Foundation. The winners from Dysart School have chosen to put the grant money towards leisure resources for Key Stage 3 and towards resources for the Key Stage 4/5 common room including a karaoke machine, Nintendo switch, games and magazine subscriptions.
