Full job description – Art and Photography Teacher – JD_PS

Person Specification

We are looking for someone with drive, creativity and a passion for teaching and supporting young people to achieve their best. Your teaching background is not important; what is important is that you have high expectations, love a challenge and have a determination to make a difference to the lives of our superb students.

Further Information

At Carew Academy we take staff wellbeing seriously – healthy and happy staff make great teachers! If you are considering a new challenge in your career then get in touch to find out what makes Carew different. We welcome applicants from all teaching backgrounds to join our team on the journey to Outstanding; NQTs are equally welcome and will benefit for the close support of a small school environment.

Carew has recently had its application to build a brand new school building approved, so this is an exciting time to be joining us with an increasing pupil roll and lots of opportunities for career development within our wider family of Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust.  Our new school will have state of the art resources for Art and Photography.

As a result, we now have an enthusiastic A-Level Art and Photography cohort of five students and we are committed to finding the best person to support these amazing learners.  Art and Photography are both a focus of the curriculum across the whole school and the successful candidate will be able to lead on the development of both GCSE and A-Level options, alongside supporting colleagues delivering Art to Years 3 to 8.  The post is offered with an additional payment for a suitably experienced candidate to develop the new A-level curriculum for both subjects and support colleagues in Art and Photography teaching across the wider Trust.

Further details and how to apply

To apply, please send your completed application form to cprice@carewacademy.org.

Please note that CVs will not be considered.

Closing Date: Wednesday 10th October 2018

Interviews:  Tuesday 16th October 2018

Start Date: 1st January 2019 or later by arrangement

Carew Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

As a community of learners, families and colleagues OHC&AT believes that by working collaboratively, with energy and ambition we can always effect positive change. No limit is placed on what is possible and everyone has the ability to be the very best they can be.
