Person Specification
You will need experience and a willingness to manage children with ASD (both verbal and lower functioning) and SLCN. You should also be experienced in developing and nurturing the play skills of young children, as well as identifying the next steps.

Orchard Hill College (the College) and Orchard Hill College Academy Trust (the Trust) together form Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a family of specialist education providers for pupils and students from nursery to further education. The College has 7 centres and the Trust is now home to 12 special schools across London, Surrey and Sussex.
The Link Primary School provides specialist teaching and therapy for up to 50 children aged 4 to 11 years whose primary need is Speech, Language and Communication. Some children may also have additional learning or sensory integration needs. A large percentage of pupils also have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The abilities are wide ranging, varying from pupils who meet cognitive milestones to pupils with complex needs.
The school has a warm, safe, friendly and nurturing environment which helps children to learn, express their ideas, communicate, develop friendships and grow in confidence and self-esteem. Small classes with high adult to child ratio enable children to settle quickly, move confidently around the school and learn the daily routines which form an integral part of school life.
