Due to our school’s expansion we are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic teacher who is able to flexibly deliver a primary style model of teaching and learning to Key Stage 2 & 3 pupils with a range of needs.

Person Specification

Candidates must be able to convey core subjects and topic-based learning to pupils and students who have a range of abilities and monitor and assess to ensure the best possible progress. The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils and students.

Applications are welcome from both NQTs and experienced teachers who have the ability to think creatively and are resilient and motivated by challenges.

Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable but not essential.

St Dominic’s School is part of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a specialist Trust with 12 Academies and seven College Centres across London, Surrey and Sussex.

We are a special school in Surrey and provide education for pupils and students aged 7-19, typically with a primary diagnosis of Autism or social communication difficulties. Our school is located in the beautiful village of Hambledon, close to Witley, Milford, Guildford and Godalming. We have views of the Surrey hills and plenty of outdoor space, including access to the common and a Forest School site.

At St Dominic’s we believe passionately in a multi-disciplinary, ‘needs led’ approach to meeting each child’s and young person’s needs, resulting in carefully managed groupings, including specialist intervention work from our in house therapeutic team.
The school works closely in partnership with families, referring authorities and external agencies to coordinate the best possible education, care, guidance and support for its pupils and students.
