Job Description:

The main purpose of this role is to support and deputise for the Head of Upper School to ensure the smooth running of Upper School (Years 9-11) through liaison with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) by organising staff and resources for the Upper School as required on a day to day basis.

You would be required to undertake a teaching commitment as appropriate to promote excellent classroom practice and sustain curriculum innovation.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils and students.

Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable but not essential.

St Dominic’s School is part of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust (OHC&AT), a specialist Trust with 12 Academies and 7 College Centres across London, Surrey and Sussex.

We are a special school in Surrey and provide education for pupils and students aged 7-19, typically with a primary diagnosis of Autism or social communication difficulties. Our school is located in the beautiful village of Hambledon, close to Witley, Milford, Guildford and Godalming. We have views of the Surrey hills and plenty of outdoor space, including access to the common and a Forest School site.

At St Dominic’s we believe passionately in a multi-disciplinary, ‘needs led’ approach to meeting each child’s and young person’s needs, resulting in carefully managed groupings, including specialist intervention work from our in house therapeutic team.

The school works closely in partnership with families, referring authorities and external agencies to coordinate the best possible education, care, guidance and support for its pupils and students.
