ASD Teacher – Arbour Vale School

Salary Main Pay Scale - A SEN (lower) allowance of £2149 per annum is payable on appointment. The full SEN allowance of £4242 per annum is payable following the acquisition of a post-graduate qualification in the field (supported by the school), the completion of two years in post at Arbour Vale or significant SEN experience.

Job Details

Arbour Vale School provides a stimulating yet safe learning environment enabling each pupil/student to achieve to their maximum potential whilst managing their specialist and complex physical, health and learning needs.

Arbour Vale converted to Academy status on November 1st 2018 and became part of Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust. As an outstanding provider and Academy sponsor, Orchard Hill College has a strong track record for making a positive impact within the local communities that it serves.

Arbour Vale School is a generic special needs school and caters for pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties, PMLD, SLD, ASD and MLD. Abilities are wide ranging throughout the school.

We are seeking to recruit an ASD teacher who has drive, creativity and a passion for teaching and learning to join our dedicated and welcoming team. Experience of working with pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential. What is imperative is that you have high expectations, a sense of humour, a love of challenge and a determination to make a difference to the lives of our fantastic children.

The school is committed to a multi-disciplinary approach to meeting pupils’ needs, and promotes high quality professional development for all staff.
