Jamie features on the BBC
We were delighted to hear one of our post-16 students, Jamie, is featuring in a BBC video: “Lockdown life: What’s going on behind every door?”
BBC News Diplomatic Correspondent, Paul Adams, delves into the truth of the impact of lockdown in his insightful report. In the video Jamie and his family explain how the lockdown has affected him. His mother explains “what he lives for is school. It’s all been stripped away.”
Mr Walsh, says: “I was very proud to see Jamie sharing his “lockdown” experiences with the BBC. He has communicated his feelings brilliantly since school closed and the piece of writing that was shown in the clip actually won Jamie a prize in our Easter competition. I know that all of our students will be missing school and seeing their friends just like Jamie is, but I hope that seeing Jamie’s video will bring a big smile to everyone’s faces.”
Amanda Skidmore, Head of Post-16, says: “During the lockdown all Post-16 students have been accessing home learning, they have completed daily living tasks and work set by tutors each day. We have had many emails and phone calls from parents expressing their appreciation for the support not only for their child but for the chance for them to share the ups and downs of lockdown. Post-16 you are all amazing!”
