International Women’s Day Football

It was fantastic to see three schools represented at a special event to mark International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March. Girls from Bedelsford, Dysart and St Philip’s were invited to attend a special Let Girls Play Football event.

The girls took part in a number of fun football games designed to increase confidence and coordination including monster ball, traffic lights and we even had the chance to try a visually impaired football session.

The event was supported by Active Kingston and the Fulham FC Foundation and attended by girls from special schools from Kingston and other nearby boroughs.

We were also delighted to see some Trust alumni working as coaches at the event. Jacob, a former pupil, is now on the apprenticeship programme at St Philip’s School, and he was running the obstacle course and monster ball games. We were also pleased to see an alumni of Orchard Hill College helping to run the traffic lights and football mastery game through his connection with the Fulham FC Foundation.

It was great to see them enjoy this Let Girls Play initiative which aimed to Inspire Inclusion.
