Integrating AI into the curriculum project continues at St Philip’s School
St Philip’s School were delighted to take part in the second year of the Global AI-based Education Exchange, Training & Conference Learning partnership with the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education in South Korea. This collaboration represents a fantastic opportunity to build lasting educational partnerships and create meaningful connections between students and teachers. Its aim is to foster innovation, cultural understanding, and educational excellence that will benefit both communities in the UK and South Korea for years to come.
This year’s collaboration included St Philip’s hosting three delegates from South Korea to tour the school and deliver a session on AI to year 11 pupils. The students engaged in the session brilliantly and were very receptive to using the new technology.
One of the teachers from Daejeon Gawan School who spent the day at St Philip’s said: “I was deeply impressed by how remarkable and beautiful St Philip’s School is. Teachers are all passionate and students love school life.”
In addition Mr Bull, Head of English, attended a conference at Kingston University entitled ‘Integrating AI in Teaching’ with a focus on finding ways to introduce AI into teaching practices to reinforce core educational values. Teachers worked in groups to present the lessons they had planned and delivered that used AI in a meaningful way to the students in class. There was also an opportunity for teachers and school leaders to share valuable insights and exchange ideas as part of a Q&A session.
Ben Walsh, Principal, said: “We were delighted to once again welcome the delegation from Daejeon to St Philip’s and take part in this collaboration looking at ways to integrate AI into the curriculum. It has been a great experience for the students and a fantastic learning exercise for staff.”
