Head Office teams volunteer at Carew Academy
Colleagues from Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust’s Central Development and Marketing teams recently spent a day volunteering at Carew Academy, helping to improve the school’s outdoor spaces.
Working alongside Carew Academy staff, the team planted trees, weeded garden areas and planted tomatoes and runner beans, helping to create outdoor spaces that students can enjoy throughout the year.
The day also provided an opportunity to see the school’s enterprise activities in action. Before getting started, the volunteers enjoyed refreshments and freshly made cinnamon buns from the students’ regular Friday enterprise initiative, held in the reception area outside the teaching café.
Sarah-Jane, Head of Fundraising at Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust, said:
“Days like this are a great reminder of the power of teamwork and the value of creating green spaces where our learners can thrive.”
Sophie Reynolds, Office Manager at Carew Academy, added:
“Thank you so much for all your hard work. It looks great outside and the students loved being part of the day.”
Volunteering days like this are a great way for colleagues from across the Trust to support our schools, strengthen relationships and make a positive difference to the environments where our learners learn and grow.
