We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dysart School has made history at the prestigious Hampton Court Garden Festival. Dysart School is the first special school to ever showcase at this renowned event!

Pupils in Saturn class have been working hard since they heard they had been selected to take part in the schools’ Bug Barrel Challenge at the event organised by the Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival from Tuesday 2nd July to Sunday 7th July.

Pupils worked with their class teacher, Anna and parent volunteer, Larissa to plan, pitch, design and plant an up-cycled oil drum to support and encourage biodiversity in a creative and fun way.

Dysart School is the first SEN school to take part in this initiative and they were excited to trailblaze the way for children with Special Educational Needs at this prestigious show. Entries were encouraged to be horticulturally correct (right plant, right place). The students also had to think about what type of wildlife they would like to encourage and then choose appropriate plants.

A huge round of applause to the amazing pupils for proudly representing the SEND community at this exceptional event!
