We are delighted that colleagues from Dysart School and Orchard Hill College have been invited to present at the International Positive Behaviour Support Conference organised by the charity British Institute of Learning Disabilities or Bild. The two-day event will take place in Liverpool and online and brings together experts in the field of Positive Behaviour Support.

Assistant Principal and Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, Jo Williams, and Renata Mliczak, PBS advisory teacher from Dysart will present a workshop on the concept of capable environments within the Positive Behaviour Support framework and its potential to enhance the lives of students, their families, and the wider community. They will draw on the successful practices established at Dysart School, and they will present strategies for embedding capable environments that cater to individual needs and values.

Craig Van-de-Velde, Deputy Principal of Orchard Hill College will be joined by Consultant and Speech and Language Therapist, Jane Johnson to present on Trauma Informed Positive Behaviour Support in a specialist college.

Other members of staff will also attend the conference and join in on other workshops and network with experts in this area with the aim of sharing and learning best practice. There is still some availability to join some of the workshops online over the course of the conference on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th May.
