Collaboration is key to Central Teams Development Day
The theme of this year’s Central Teams Development Day was collaboration.
The day started with John Prior CEO welcoming colleagues. There was a look back on key achievements across the Central Team including moving to new head office, the introduction of a new IT infrastructure and a new HR System and a look forward to future areas for development.
The keynote session was presented by Craig Van-de-Velde, Deputy Principal of Orchard Hill College, on the theme of implementing trauma-informed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) at the College. He explained how by coming up with a joint framework between the two strategies, the College had seen a huge improvement in confidence rating and for staff to be able to articulate the benefits to students.
After lunch staff took part in a Team Building exercise ‘the pirate chain challenge’ and there was training on Microsoft Teams with top tips and ideas of where staff could use Co-Pilot to help with tasks.
The day ended with the annual Staff Awards recognising members of staff who had gone above and beyond to live the OHC&AT CREATE values as voted for by their colleagues.
Kelly Phillips, Principal of Orchard Hill College, closed the day by thanking everyone for doing an amazing job and supporting all the pupils and students across the schools and college centres.
