Celebrating World Earth Day
Schools across Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust are celebrating World Earth Day and bringing this year’s theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ to life, through hands on sustainability projects that support biodiversity, outdoor learning and community action, today and all year round.
From worm farm making and traditional tree planting celebrations at Brantridge School to weekly Gardening Club and Earth Day themed activities at St Dominic’s School, to growing strawberries at Addington Valley Academy and creating a new tree hedge through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Carew Academy, pupils are learning how small actions can make a big difference right across our Trust.
Together our schools are inspiring young people to care for the planet and take pride in creating a greener future. Through their enthusiasm and involvement, students are showing that World Earth Day is not just a one day event, but part of an ongoing commitment to caring for the planet.
