Carew Academy’s new school building reaches milestone

On 10 April 2024, a Topping Out / Watertight milestone ceremony was held at the new site for Carew Academy in Wallington to celebrate a key stage of the construction of the new school.  The event was hosted by the building contractor, Kier, and attended by representatives from Carew Academy, Department for Education, local residents and the sub-contractors working on the project.

In celebration of the event, a glass plaque was given by John Bolton, on behalf of Kier, to James Kearns, Principal of Carew Academy.  All the attendees were then asked to sign their name on a construction beam in one of the classrooms for posterity!

You can see from the photos below that the build is progressing at a pace.
