Carew Academy Awarded Gold Level Accreditation for TIAAS Programme
We are proud to share that Carew Academy have been awarded the Gold Level accreditation for the Trauma Informed Attachment Aware Schools (TIAAS) programme. This recognition highlights their commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. The Gold Level Award recognises Carew’s pledge to embed trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices throughout every aspect of school life.
Principal, James Kearns said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this accreditation. It reflects the incredible effort and passion of our staff in ensuring that every child feels understood, valued, and supported. This recognition is not just an award – it’s a celebration of the inclusive and compassionate culture at Carew Academy.”
The Building Stronger Foundations programme, supported by the Sutton Virtual School and Educational Psychology service, demonstrates Carew’s’ commitment to developing relational practice not only within the school itself, but also across the wider community, both locally and regionally. They have also been sharing good practice with other Sutton schools and shared their school’s journey to becoming a relational school at the ARC (Attachment Research Community) conference in London in July.
This milestone embodies Carew’s aim to create a school community which supports all its members and provides an outstanding, caring, and aspirational education for all students.
