Bedelsford School keeps its Shakespeare Schools Gold Medal School
Bedelsford School has maintained its Coram Shakespeare Schools Gold Medal School award in recognition of their participation in Shakespeare Schools Theatre Festival for over five consecutive years. The festival is the world’s largest youth drama festival and aims to use the unique power of Shakespeare to transform lives.
The students relish the opportunity to perform on a professional stage at The Rose Theatre in front of an audience of family, friends and members of our local community. This year’s performance of Twelfth Night gave students the opportunity to express themselves and develop their independence skills.
Students work hard in rehearsals to ensure their lines are word perfect and delivered through their preferred communication method including AAC devices.
Members of the audience regularly feedback on how they enjoy the sensory nature of our performances which involve music, movement as well as the spoken word.
We are grateful for wonderful support of the creative arts therapy team, the Rose Theatre and the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation who support the Bedelsford students to tread the boards.
