Annual Safeguarding conference

Jackie Van-West, the Director of Safeguarding for OHC&AT was delighted to host our Annual Safeguarding conference. Designated Safeguarding Leads, Principals, Governors and other professionals from across the Trust came together for the event. The focus of this year’s agenda was online safety and we were pleased to welcome Gareth Cort from South West Grid for Learning (SWGFL) to present on such a current and important topic.

Also presenting were Kiran Rehal, Regional Outreach Adviser Disclosure and Barring Service,  Jane Parr, Assistant LADO & Independent Reviewing Officer, London Borough of Croydon, who gave an useful presentation on the role of the LADO. Finally, Michelle Brennan Director of HR for OHC&AT presented on Managing Allegations against Staff. The conference was opened and closed with an uplifting speech from our Deputy CEO Laurie Cornwell.
