About Nightingale Community Academy

Nightingale Community Academy is a special school in Wandsworth for 238 learners with social emotional and mental health needs. The main site in Beechcroft Road has places for 166 boys aged 5 to 19 and the satellite site, Nightingale Priory Lane has places for up to 72 boys and girls aged 11-16 years.

Primary pupils benefit from a purpose-built classroom hub and outdoor adventure playground and access to weekly music lessons and a comprehensive therapy service. Secondary and post-16 students are offered a broad curriculum including vocational courses such as motor vehicle studies, construction, horticulture and hospitality. All pupils benefit from regular animal therapy at Tom’s Farm, which is located on the spacious school site.

In April 2026 Nightingale Community Academy opened an additional site for secondary aged boys and girls with Social Emotional and Health Needs, including those who may also have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), alongside other associated needs. The new site in Priory Lane has undergone extensive refurbishment and initially offers 24 places for secondary-aged pupils, with the potential to expand this number to 72 places within three years.

Staff at Nightingale Community Academy take pride in the development of young people in a safe and stimulating environment and are offered a rewarding and varied career in return. To find out more about us visit www.nightingaleca.org
